What it does

A toolset aimed at token efficiency. It makes common heavy tools load on demand and has tools return more compact results, so each conversation burns fewer tokens.

Features

  • Enables ops_bash on Windows with behavior matching native bash, with an option to disable powershell
  • Uses DSH's reserved dynamic tool loading so heavy tools such as PDF and Word reading and multi-file batch edits appear on demand instead of sitting in the system prompt
  • Native mode returns compact results with line numbers and clearer error messages, reducing back-and-forth trial and error
  • PTC mode returns structured JSON, easing the burden of the model writing TypeScript; the PTC SDK includes 18 APIs
  • The author has published a personal benchmark and claims a clear improvement in token efficiency

Good fit for

  • Token use climbs too fast in long sessions and you want to cut overhead at the tool layer
  • You need reliable bash semantics on Windows
  • You frequently batch-process documents and edit multiple files

Advice

  • Installing from the official plugin marketplace is recommended, with a custom registry pointing at the Huawei Cloud mirror (the author says npmmirror has a bug)
  • If you install from the command line, you must specify the profile explicitly: `npx --yes dsh-ops@latest install --profile web` (or desktop / tui)
  • Enable only ops_bash and dynamic loading first, watch the token curve, then decide whether to hide more official tools

Cautions

  • Security red line: reads credentials + network access, and declares the literal IP 2.56.0.2
  • Hiding official tools changes the agent's habits, making it harder to tell which change caused a problem
  • The author states npmmirror is not recommended for installation; the wrong registry can break upgrades

Security red lines

  • reads credentials/secrets AND has network access
  • uses literal IP 2.56.0.2 for network access
