sixtysevenlf/dsh-blender-plugin

Lets the DSH agent drive a local Blender through a direct TCP channel, providing 16 tools: viewport frames, custom-view renders, Python execution, headless and job offloading, transaction rollback, and a planning layer with 28 families / 186 ops.

Tool

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add github:sixtysevenlf/dsh-blender-plugin

What it does

Connects DSH to Blender so the agent can model, inspect, validate, and export 3D scenes inside a real Blender session instead of blindly writing Python scripts.

Features

  • GUI-first: the agent works against the Blender window you are looking at, can see the scene, run Python, and take screenshots, iterating step by step
  • When there is no GUI, it starts a persistent headless session that can still execute code and return rendered frames, so the agent is not "blind"
  • Provides 16 tools: viewport frames, custom-view renders, Python execution, headless and job offloading, transaction rollback
  • The planning layer covers 28 families and 186 ops, so complex operations can be planned before execution
  • Transaction rollback: wrong changes can be reverted

Good fit for

  • You need an agent to help build 3D scenes, tune materials, or batch-edit objects
  • You want Blender operations folded into automated workflows
  • Render-farm-style batch jobs that need headless execution

Advice

  • Use GUI mode day to day; it is harder to break things when you can see them
  • Reserve headless mode for batch jobs, and validate scripts at small scale first
  • Manually save a copy of the .blend before complex changes; transaction rollback does not cover every case

Cautions

  • Requires Blender installed locally with the corresponding addon loaded
  • 3D scene changes are often hard to undo; save a copy of important files first
  • Headless mode lacks visual feedback, making errors harder to diagnose
