What it does

Data analysis by conversation: you ask in plain language, and it works out the table structure, writes SQL, runs the query, produces charts, and finally gives you conclusions and a report.

Features

  • No barrier to entry: just ask "compare conversion rates by channel over the last 30 days" without writing SQL
  • Automatically probes database and table structure, reasons step by step, and outputs clear conclusions
  • Draws line, bar, pie, and scatter charts or multi-dimensional dashboards from the conclusions, exportable as offline HTML reports
  • Compares fluctuations, locates anomalies, and identifies high-value customer segments, giving business recommendations rather than just numbers
  • Can scan the database to annotate fields with business meaning, with human review, to unify definitions
  • Supports read-only accounts and read-only mode; credentials are stored locally

Good fit for

  • Business users who want to query numbers themselves without waiting on the data team's schedule
  • Fast exploratory analysis with charts to show colleagues
  • Cleaning up messy table and field names and establishing a set of business definitions

Advice

  • Use a read-only account when connecting to a database; this is the safety precondition the tool itself emphasizes
  • For complex metrics, have it explain the calculation definition before trusting the result
  • Exported HTML reports can be shared directly, but check whether they contain sensitive data

Cautions

  • Security red line: reads credentials + network access
  • Auto-generated SQL may have performance pitfalls; check the execution plan first on large tables
  • Its business recommendations are inferences from data; important decisions still require human judgment

Security red lines

  • reads credentials/secrets AND has network access
  • uses plaintext http:// to schemas.openxmlformats.org
