czcdr/dsh-plugin-rea

Third-party adapter plugin: connects the upstream REA (reverse everything, github.com/morluto/rea) MCP service to DeepSeek Harness, providing mcp__rea__* tools. 2.x provisions its own runtime: it installs Node, the REA CLI, JDK, and Ghidra under <DSH_HOME>/plugins/rea-bundle, then launches REA through a shim — on a clean machine, running setup once is enough. 1.x (v1 branch / npm 1.0.6) is a pure configuration adapter and requires you to install REA and Ghidra yourself. The reverse-engineering capabilities come from REA, covering native binaries (Hopper/Ghidra/IDA), JavaScript/Electron applications, .NET assemblies, websites, Android APKs and adb devices, firmware, and process capture.

Tool

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-rea

What it does

Links the REA reverse-engineering toolchain into DSH. Version 2.x installs the runtime environment along with it, so you do not configure Node, JDK, or Ghidra by hand.

Features

  • 2.x ships its own runtime: Node, REA CLI, JDK, and Ghidra configured in one pass
  • Install the plugin → run the setup script once → restart dsh: three steps
  • 1.x is the older version and only adapts configuration, requiring you to install rea and Ghidra yourself; it has moved to the v1 branch
  • The capability differences between the two versions are fully documented

Good fit for

  • You want to do reverse engineering in DSH without manually setting up a Ghidra environment
  • You already use morluto/rea and want it in DSH
  • You are new to reverse-engineering toolchains and want a one-step install

Advice

  • Go straight to 2.x; do not migrate from 1.x
  • The setup script only needs to run once; running it repeatedly may overwrite your configuration
  • After installation, confirm the `rea` command is on PATH and runs before starting analysis

Cautions

  • It downloads and installs relatively heavy dependencies such as JDK and Ghidra, which take disk space and time
  • Use reverse-engineering tools only on your own or authorized targets
  • A broken environment is troublesome to clean up; back up the system environment first
