Install
dsh plugin --profile web add @ljwei-stak/dsh-model-routerWhat it does
A model-routing workbench that does the math before you spend: it splits interdependent tasks into work packages, assigns them to different models or vendor CLIs, and estimates cost before execution.
Features
- Planning happens locally; the planning process is not sent out
- Compare several configured routes and pick the cheaper one
- See what permissions a route requires before execution
- Concurrent runs reserve the remaining budget; interrupted runs still retain their budget reservation and cost evidence
- Recorded spend and estimated reservations are displayed separately to avoid misreading the bill
Good fit for
- You have several model providers connected and want to control cost
- You want to know which model is most economical for a given kind of task
- Tasks have dependencies and must be dispatched to different models in order
Advice
- Run it for a while to collect real usage before tuning routing rules; don't configure by feel
- Subscribing to release notifications is enough; there is no need to watch all activity
- Don't route important tasks to weaker models to save money; the quality loss usually costs more than the savings
Cautions
- Routing decisions are based on configuration and estimates; the actual bill is still whatever the vendor charges
- Changing routes changes output quality, so verify the results yourself
- It targets the DSH desktop edition and may not apply to the web edition
Security red lines
- reads credentials/secrets AND has network access
